2. Past research themes
- Urban hydrology
Source control of urban runoff: developpement of decision support tools for selecting, planning and assessing techniques alternative to sanitation networks within several European countries : structural techniques (terrasse roof, infiltration, storage tanks either for urban runoff or snow...) or non structural techniques (street and sidewway cleaning, urban runoff specific taxes...).
European research project DayWater (10 partners from 8 countries, coordinated from 2002 to 2005)
European research project CityNet (48 partners, participation from 2003 to 2007).
- Water contamination
Balance of Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb et Zn source et transfert flows within Seine River: present situation and evolution since about 50 years.
Sampling of dry, wet and total atmospheric deposits in urban and rural area and determination of their trace metal content, developement of poly-metallic tracers for major urban metal sources.
- Analytical bioelectrochemistry
Membrane type electrochemical biosensors.
Oxidoreduction potential determination in natural or waste water samples and application to waste water biological treatment.
3. Recent research

- Scientific edition and publication on Open Source sites Hyper Articles en Ligne (HAL) of the Proceedings of Journees Scientifiques de l’Environnement (JSE) (from 2003 to 2011) and of the international annual workshop for environmental PhD students “World Wide Workshop for Young Environmental Scientists” (WWW-YES) (from 2002 to 2011).
- Scientific edition of a collaborative book presenting major results of the European DayWater project “DayWater: an Adaptive Decision Support System for Urban Stormwater Management” published by IWA Publishers, UK (2008).
- Participation to the special issue 375 (1-3) of “Science for the Total Environment” (2007) : coordination and chapters writting.
- Participation to the special issue 4 (2007) of “Hydrol. Earth Syst. Sci. Discuss.” (2007): writting and edition of chapters.
4. Past teaching
- From 1989 to 2012, coordination of an annual scientific conference (Journées Scientifiques de l’Environnement) together with LISA, LGE and Val de Marne County administration, for first year students preparing the Science and Environnement Engineering Master degree at Paris-Est Creteil University, Ecole des Ponts ParisTech and Paris Diderot University, and for PhD students, searchers, local administrators and elected representatives with diferent topics eac year.
- From 2002 to 2013, coordination and direction of the annual international workshop for environmental PhD students “World Wide Workshop for Young Environmental Scientists” (WWW-YES), on “Urban waters: ressource or risks? A developing countries perspective”.
- From 2009 to 2013, lectures on trace metals in the Seine River basin: students preparing the master of science “Sciences et Génie de l’Environnement, Aquatic Systems and Water Management - SAGE”, education unit on watersheds.
