2. Research themes
- Microbial ecotoxicology. Studies the abundance, activity and diversity of the microbial communities in receiving water environment under anthropogenic disturbance.
- Interactions between microorganisms and micropollutants. Understanding the mechanisms of biotransformation and biodegradation of micropollutants
- New technology for disinfection of WWTP effluents using performic acid. Study of the effectiveness of disinfection by performic acid microbial ecotoxicology of the receiving water ecosystem.
- Antimicrobial resistance. Dynamics of Antimicrobial-Resistant Bacteria (ARBs) and Antimicrobial Resistance Genes (ARGs) in the Urban Water Cycle (influent, during treatment, effluent, dissemination, and impact on receiving environments).
