Reviews, modeling exercises, field and lab works focusing on the diversity and spatio-temporal dynamic of fecal indicators, viruses, pathogenic bacteria, parasites, and toxin-producing algae in urban waters are welcome. Moreover, studies on real-time monitoring, now-casting, forecasting models, evolution of the regulations, sanitary risk analysis are encouraged. The Special Issue also collects studies focusing on the ecology of pathogens in surface waters and on the sources and fate of pathogens in urban waterways and lakes.
